The Situation of Myopia (Nearsightedness) in Taiwan

There are so many people having Myopia in Taiwan and the situation does not change at all. That means more and more people get myopia. How bad is the situation? For example, there are twenty students taking this class, and only three of us do not have myopia. Everything has its result. There must be some causes of the situation.
There are two main reasons that a lot of people get myopia in Taiwan. One is that there are so many people live in this small island, and the competitions between us are bitter. The other is our education system. Our government wanted to fight back to main land China so they encouraged people to have a lot of children. However, war did not start, and many babies were born; then, they became adults and had their children. That is why there are so many people these days. People need education. Our education system was not good at firs, and so many people need to go to school, and bad things happened.
From the above, we know the two main reasons cause the serious myopia situation in Taiwan, and I will explain why. For the first reason, people like to live in big cities because there are much more jobs in the big cities than in the countries. In order to let so many people live in the cities; apartments are built higher and higher. The distance between buildings and buildings are closer and closer. People in the city do not have chance to see far away to rest their eyes and that is a good way to prevent myopia. They work very hard to earn money to live in the city. They hardly have time to go outside to take a rest, and if they have time, there are not many places to let people exercise in the crowded city so many people tend to stay home watching TV instead of driving so far doing some sports. People use their eyes and do not rest their eyes, and that is not good for eyes at all.
The second reason, students in Taiwan are taught that one must study hard or one will not get a good job. Parents want to see their children perform well in their school, and they give pressure on their children. Students must study very hard to live on their parents’ expectation. They spend most of their time studying. After school, they go home study or go to cram school. They do not have time to take a rest. If they have some free time, they often spend their time watching TV or play computer games. Those do not help their eye resting. Those are why so many people have myopia in Taiwan.
To solve the problem, I think our government must build more parks or place that let us exercise and rest our eyes.

Sweeny Todd

Recently I found the movie DVD in Blockbuster named "Sweeny Todd", starred by Johnny Depp. This movie was produced on Febuary, and I went to see the movie. It says a man,Sweeny Todd, who was circumvented in the jail for fifteen years. His wife and daughter were deprived off, so he wanted to revenge. he used his knife to kill whoever enter his barbershop. At last, beyond everyone's expectation, Sweeny Todd killed his beloved wife by himself unpurposely. And the most pityful, Sweeny Todd never saw his daughter until he's dead. This movie was played mostly by songs, which were sang by all the acters and actress. I think it's a very touching movie although many bloody scenes.

Busy

Sometimes I feel frustrated because of my busy life. I need to handle a lot of business and so many curricular assignments to be finished. I feel so much responsibility and pressure push on me. Since I will be the next leader of movie club, I have to attend every club class and dinner party, which cost me a great deal of time. Fortunately, I have made many friends since I spent more time on extracurricular activities, and it's very meaningful. Although such a busy life I lead, I made an apparent progress in my grades this semester. I hope I can arrange time more propperly next semester.

I have a happy weekend

This weekend I drove to every where to eat delicious food. I was really happy to do that because food in our university was terrible and we have to eat those things everyday. It is so great that I have a car to go out on the weekend to eat something more delicious.

I found a turtle near my car

Today, I walked to my car and suddenly I found something was moving in the dark on the ground. I was really shocked. I considered that walked toward it or just went home. I wanted to know what it is so I had a deep breath and walked toward it. It did not move when I walked toward it. I kicked it and ran back to see if it moved again. It was dark so I used my cell phone to have some light. I saw a turtle. I was not afraid at all because I already had a turtle at home. I decided to bring it home because if I left it there, it might be dried and died. My turtle had a new friend.
